prop 8 passed!!!

finally! prop 8 passed in california! it puts a ban on gay marriage in the state of california. that means that is no longer legal in the state of california for gay couples to be legally wed and enjoy the same benefits that heterosexual couples enjoy. things like tax cuts and being able to see a loved one if they were hurt in hospital. we can continue to force our morals onto others who may not wish to live their life under the rules we govern ourselves, this is great!

i'm no fool

i suppose you've heard murmurs of the truth lingering about. yes, today i got into a fender bender while i was trying to find a parking spot this morning. i was behind a lousy-looking, black geo kind of car. i noticed several parked cars ahead that a car was reversing, those big white lights are a dead give-away. i assumed this tart would try to get that space even though it wasn't much to write home about. he did. he did so with great fervor too.

air fresheners

i have an air freshener for my room. it sits on top of some papers on the top level of my three-tiered inbox type thing. while i sit here i can smell it. if i look to my right the smell is gone. it literally does nothing to enhance the scent of my room. it doesn't fight odor, i don't even think it's got the power to call odor names or make fun of its mom. what's more is that even being some two and half feet away it's giving me a headache. sure it smells pleasant, but it's a lukewarm pleasant because it's giving me a headache which isn't fully awesome.

have you ever.

driving. simply driving at 3am, that's all it took. driving past familiar highways, buildings, and even the places where he grew up. not a soul was on the road so he was extra careful to obey any and all posted signage, well most of it; actually, just the important stuff. the night was extraordinarily cool and the windows down was the absolute only way to drive. 3am on a wednesday night, or rather a thursday morning. despite the time or day this was perfect.

you were thinking it.

the new weezer album is great. specifically the greatest man that ever lived and pork & beans. the latter is such a jump up and scream at the top of your lungs kind of song. i'm at work and all i want to is sing it out loud.

also, happy birthday me! i did it!

uninspired drivel.

i literally have nothing to say. it's not that i couldn't come up with something, i could, but at this point in time there is not a lot to talk about. sure, i could think of something to talk about, but then this would mean something. given the title i've chosen i can't very well write something meaningful right now. well, i could, but i shouldn't.

wesley snipes gets 3 years for tax evasion

this is awesome! seriously. this whole thing is so ridiculous anyway. why do we care so much about wesley snipes not paying his taxes? i probably walk by 15 people everyday that haven't paid their taxes in over 5 years - chicago's pretty big. why should we care about him though? i guess we care just because he's a celebrity and it's fun to see 'em misbehave and get caught.

incremental updates

obviously, it's been some time since my last entry. in fact, it will always have been some time since my last entry considering that there is such a thing as time. now that we've done our existential spring cleaning i'm sure we can move forward.

are you looking at me?

i am so tired. not physically whatsoever. short of the walking i do to the train and then to work and when i go out for improv stuff i don't do a lot of physical things. i've been debating joining a gym for about 6 months though, so who knows, maybe i'll start something physical soon.

i'm mostly tired mentally. just drained, and i'll tell you why. humans are sentient. tim is a human. tim is sentient.

a birthday letter to a six-year-old

happy birthday, rowan!

i wanted to write you a letter to commemorate your special "all-about-you" day. it's been awhile since we've seen one another, i guess when i moved away that made things more difficult. the last time i saw you was probably 3 years now, maybe even more, i'll have to look at my file. a lot can happen in 3 years as i'm sure these last 3 have no doubt taught you. hopefully in that time you've had a chance to do a few things with your life: catch up on your reading, travel, or perhaps you've met that special someone. if there's one thing i can say it's take your time. you're young and you've got a lot of ahead of you. best not to burnout right out of the gate i always say. as for the other stuff, assuming that's what you've been up to, good for you! the joys of travel are invigorating and the happiness a good book can bring, well the sky's the limit, besides a book can take you places a plane never could i always say.
